The Gaza War 2014
The 2014 Gaza Conflict Factual and Legal Aspects
For the past 50 years from shortly after the end of World War II, the world became involved in another war, which some people preferred to ignore it, instead calling it a period of prosperity.
Others called it a guerilla war, some labelled it social terrorism, some freedom fighting or simply terrorism. But for whatever reason the proper attention was not paid to these events.
Today, and particularly in the past 15 years, it has been finally called by its real name "the war for civilisation", the war of religions (if Islam is religion), or world war III.
The fact that the whole world is involved in this deadly fighting, no one denies any more.
The problem is that nobody knows who the enemy is, where the front line is, what the goal is, and who is manipulating or running the war -- military or media. No one knows how the rules of the current war affect the civilian population, who are combat personnel, what type of weaponry is used or what to do with prisoners of war. In short, there are no rules of engagement.
War is not new in world history. As a matter of fact as long as there has been man, there has been fighting. But the fighting was usually subject to rules and regulations that people mainly adhered to.
Look at what is going on now.
First, who is the enemy?
The media and political leaders explain to us that radical Islam intends to destroy the Western way of life and to convert the population to Islam or simply kill them if they don't.
Who or what is radical Islam? We don't know.
What percentage of the world's 1.5 billion Muslims is radical? Is it the 15 per cent or 225 million people that figures show are directly involved in radical practices such as terrorism, or is it more? What about the hundreds of millions of others who are not directly involved but whom, it would seem, are tacit supporters of their Jihadist relatives and friends? Should they not be regarded as active reservists?
According to the Koran, only two sorts of people exist, believers or non-believers. Non-believers such as Christians and Jews, have no place on this earth, and must convert or be killed. It is as simple as that, and it's not negotiable.
In dealing with Islam it needs to be understood that there is a difference between religions such as Judaism and Christianity which worships God, eternal power, creation of the world and life, and the sectarian nature of Islam, organised around a single man, preaching extremism, fatalism, humiliation and death.
In the last century only Hitler, obsessed with racists ideology, dragged the world into WW2 and killed and destroyed the lives of the hundreds of millions of people. Stalin was busy building world-wide communism by using as a base 60 million corpses of his own citizens. And what about Mao in China and several other maniacal sects. I think the Islam has to be considered as a part of these phenomena.
It seems that to face such a formidable enemy, the West must to develop a combat strategy to protect itself and ultimately destroy the threat to its existence.
True, it is not a conventional war and the works of the great military theoretics such as King David, Moltke, Bismarck, Clauzevitz, Guderian and others are less helpful now, but considering the innumerable contemporary think tanks, strategic policy centres and institutions, military and political leaders, it should not be so difficult.
Unfortunately, the West has failed to develop a theoretical base for the current war and has made so many grave mistakes that its survival, let alone its chance of winning of the war, is seriously under threat.
Consider the following. The enemy forces, like a cancer, have spread around all Western countries, have infiltrated cities, towns and strategic centres. They have collected weapons, developed plans and are ready to attack.
Western liberal governments are doing little or nothing to stop it.
The classic method of fighting fifth columnists through detention and deportation – which has been successful in the past – has fallen by the wayside. The explosion in the birth rate of Muslims will lead at least in the short term to the Islamisation of the West by democratic means.
About the front line. Now, as never before, the front line is everywhere. The front line, snakes through the fabric of Western society -- shops, restaurants, schools, transport, hospitals and even along your neighbour’s fence -- without knowing a geographic border.
Who or what is this front line that infiltrates the West? They are many and they are not in uniform, they are men and women, they are the young and the old, they are the rich and the poor, they are the educated and the uneducated. There is nothing to distinguish them as the enemy, but weapons, explosives, and other destructive material are hidden under their clothing and this makes them unrecognisable as soldiers.
This means that any Muslim has to be regarded as an enemy, and treated accordingly.
And all this is going on internally, inside Western territory.
In regard to open action against external enemies, here the relationship fits into the traditional war frame: as soon as a state of the war is declared (and that's what happened when Iran declared its intention to destroy the US and wipe the state of Israel off the map), the US and Israel must to use all available military means to protect itself and destroy the aggressor.
Of course the West, and particularly the US, is trying to fix the problem. The war in Iraq, Afghanistan, its policy in the Middle East have the good intention of ridding the world of terrorism. However, the way it is going about it and trying to sell it to the world, particularly its Middle East policy, is doing more harm than good and will never bring peace between Israel and its neighbors.
Unless the West recognises and accepts that peace in the Middle East and, by extension other parts of the world, will only come about by beating the enemy using whatever military means are available and not by negotiation, it will lose.
No road map, no quartet, no two-state entity in Israel, no negotiation with Hezbollah, Hamas, Fatah, Iran, Syria, Islamic Jihad or other terrorists will help. Nor will democracy.
Democracy is not a way of life or a human philosophy but a way of expressing wishes, hopes and expectations. Elections in Gaza show that 85 per cent of Arabs supported Hamas, which promises to destroy Israel. This democratic process only underlines their aggressive nature and again demonstrates that Gaza is one big pot of terrorists to be put to the end.
Simply, destroy the enemy before they destroy you.
The West is today living like it did in the pre-war years of 1938-39, trying to appease its enemies (by giving Czechoslovakia to Hitler and now betraying Israel to its enemies) but it has to move without hesitation to 1945 (remember Hiroshima, Nagasaki, Konigsberg and a few years ago Yugoslavia). It must demonstrate formidable power, and will destroy evil.
Slobodan Milosevic, with all his demerits, very well understood the nature of the relationship between the Judeo-Christian religion and Islam, but the liberal West does not, and now they have Kosovo.
Dear President Bush, it is time to grow up from being the leader of the US to being the leader of the world's greatest civilisation, as did your predecessor Franklin Delano Roosevelt. The goal of the war should be complete elimination of aggression and protection of the West from any terrorism.
