New Year Wishes

First of all a big thank you for your support and encouragement over this past year! It really helps us to keep going, running our website, communicating our media concerns to politicians and journalists, offering support to other like- minded individuals and groups, nationally and internationally and providing intelligent and knowledgeable guest speakers from time to time. The internet is a powerful communication tool and our website has certainly proven to be a very effective and efficient way to inform and influence people in many spheres of interest.

For our non-Jewish supporters, each year, on the evening of the new moon, at the beginning of the month of Tishrei in the Jewish lunar calendar, (September 12th this year) Jewish people around the world begin a period of prayer and self-examination that ends, ten days later, with a twenty-four hour fast. These are the High Holy Days, beginning with Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year and ending with Yom Kippur, the day of atonement. These days are a time to reflect on the past year and to realign life with truth and wisdom and to prepare for a new year's challenges.

Thus at this special time, we (that is, Ralph, Fran and Ronit) would like to wish everyone a very Happy New Year and Well over the Fast!

Shana Tova umetuka and G'mar Hatima Tova.

Tell us what you think

Thank you Fran, Ronit and Ralph for an excellent job. I would love to send you some of the European Jews questions and opinions.. but I'd rather limit myself to the French language I write much better. As Ms.Golda Meyer used to say: With warm regards.

Thanks very much Fran, Ralph and Ronit for all your hard work. I really appreciate the effort you go to to keep us informed about events relating to the Middle East both in Australia and abroad. I wish you and all your readers a happy and peaceful New Year.

TO ALL: As the Jewish New Year approaches, I felt I might pass on the following thought I received, alongside the traditional L'Shanah Tovah. It is entitled, "GERMANY ANNOUNCED ITS DECISION." Somehow, I think it contains something we as Jews should remember this year, as members of the greater global community: "Germany announced its decision to stop all arms sales to Israel. This was Israel's response. Please take a moment and read this message. Several weeks ago, Germany announced its decision to stop all arms sales to Israel. Since then, other countries have followed suit. In response, Israel has canceled its annual multimillion dollar contract for its nationwide DAN buses which were manufactured in Germany , and is looking at other bus suppliers in the US, and Japan. The Europeans and their Muslim allies should understand that boycotts work both ways. When we said NEVER AGAIN, we meant it. Europe is stuck in the mentality of 1933 and conditioned to thinking of Jews as defenseless entities. The reality is very different. As long as Europe adheres to and supports its primitive Middle Ages death cult, European products must be off limits. We continue to call for a complete boycott of travel and products from the following countries France , Belgium , Spain , Germany , Sweden , Switzerland , Norway , Denmark , Holland , and China , due to their support, sponsorship, and/or participation in global Islamic terror. The voting record of the above countries at the UN openly endorses Muslim terror. Remember, every time you buy a bottle of Evian, a Carlsberg product, a Spanish melon, a Godiva chocolate, a Dior lipstick, a Gucci bag, or a German kitchen appliance, you are financing the next Muslim mass murderer. The European Union gives over $10 million per month to the Palestinian Authority, knowing full well that the money is funneled to buy, import, and train Muslim terrorists and their weapons of mass murder. We strongly encourage everyone to buy American and Israeli products instead. Buy Estee Lauder or Ahava instead of Chanel, Dior, and YSL. Tell the salespeople why. Educate the public when you shop. Europe is underwriting the Arab war to exterminate the Jewish state. We cannot sit idly by while this happens. Make your voice heard and let them feel the sting in their pocketbooks. Let the Europeans know that supporting terror does not pay." Please send this to at least 10 like-minded people Levon K. Topouzian M.D. Northwestern University, L-Topouzian@Northwestern.edu

I am one of your non-Jewish readers. I am afraid am uninformed on Jewish traditions even though my family heritage is Jewish on a maternal leg of the old family tree. I greatly enjoy the articles and information from ICJS and pray blessings on your goals for the coming Jewish New Year.

Gaye, thanks for mail. Could you send me the one where it's listed all the outrageous events where the Muslim community has NOT been outraged or reacted? I'm planning to send something out as a new "Mohammed crisis" has evolved in Sweden, regarding a cartoon (that does not state it's Mohammed) which they are now demanding Swedish law changes about - protecting Muslims from the sarcasm and free press that everyone else accepts as a fundamental component of democracy. The Muslims want to forbid unlabeled cartoons of people with turbins!!
