Shmoozing with Terrorists

Rachael Kohn recently presented a revealing interview with a young Jewish man, Aaron Klein, who has written a book called Shmoozing with Terrorists on her The Spirit of Things program on the ABC.

Aaron presents information he gleaned from his interviews with Palestinian terrorists about their true intentions and he discusses frankly what he discovered.

"Israel, homosexuality, and Hollywood are targeted for elimination according to the young men from the al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades, Hamas, and Islamic Jihad. Aaron Klein, an Orthodox Jew and intrepid journalist, has made it a point to seek them out and get answers to his questions, as he tells Rachael Kohn in Jerusalem."

It was refreshing to read such a frank interview with Klein, who has accurately presented the ideology of Hamas, Al-Aqsa martyrs and other Islamist groups functioning in Israel and the Palestinian territories. The views he reported are entirely consistent with the charters and official statements of these groups (such as the Hamas charter). It was a Palestinian authority Muslim cleric who preached on PA TV in April 2002: "Oh beloved, look to the East of the earth, find Japan and the ocean; look to the West of the earth, find [some] country and the ocean. Be assured that these will be owned by the Muslim nation, as the Hadith says... 'from the ocean to the ocean'..." These groups' religion motiviation is not limited to liberating Palestine, but is indeed much broader, to establish strict Islamic rule in the world. Congratulations to the ABC for not being a creature of political correctness on this occasion, and to Rachel Kohn, who has presented such a variety of perspectives on her program over the years. I think for example of her interview with David Khalili which presented a completely different perspective of Muslim-Jewish relations.
