This website has built up a decent and thoughtful readership over the 5 years since ints inception. This pages seeks to document the strengths which the founders believe have caused it to become what it now is. These guidelines are flexible, and in all 'grey' cases a simple phone call or email between the team should serve to provide clarification. All contributors, (including the Executive), shall adhere to these principles.
Remember the mission statement of ICJS Research when engaging in activities on its behalf: Media Imbalance, Jewish leadership issues, terrorism etc are our primary focus.
General Guidelines
- Material posted on the website must fall into one or more of the current subject categories available. Any article or piece which does not fall into a current category needs to be approved by the Executive of ICJS Research before posting.
- Keeping in mind the speed of communication, articles posted should be current or original pieces with high informational/ opinion values. There is generally no point in publishing material that is readily available on many other sites.
- All articles need to be authenticated and all efforts made to source the original. In cases where unpublished articles become available, permission to post must be sought from the author.
Technical Guidelines
- When posting an article care should be taken to include the url from which the article was sourced.
- The Title should follow normal broadsheet principles being first word upper case, following words in lower case unless proper nouns.
- Author section: includes only the name of the author unless an honorific is included in the original attribution. No biographical or other information to be included here.
- Source: cites the publication from which the article came. If original or unpublished and approved by the author, source should read ICJS Research.
- The body of the article needs to be edited properly and any queries in technical issues directed to Ralph or Ronit.
- Emails to the appropriate reader groups regarding new articles need to be sent out in a judicious and timely manner.
Readership Responsibilities
- Once posted on the website, articles need to be monitored for feedback and popularity. ICJS Research is actively responsive to our readership. Articles that prove to be topical and generate a lot of interest should be followed up with related topics. Likewise, topics that do not resonate with readership should be reconsidered.
- Emails from readers should always be answered as quickly as possible.
- The website should be monitored daily for activity.
