F Lapides errs in inferring that Liebler is condemning any criticism of Israel; one needs to read with understanding. And it is silly to assert that Netanyahu is simply placating the Right. J Mandelbaum is correct in typifying Davis as that sort of Jew who identifies with a nation that is likely to disown him. The list of complaints about Israel are correct, even omitting other faults, but they are not germane. The point Isi Liebler made was that no person who represents an organisation should publicly express views that oppose the goal of the organisation. As an individual Davis has every right to fool himself that he is more pommy than the poms, but he should have the decency to step down from his big macher position. Liebler also decries, perfectly correctly, that for Davis, or other persons, to criticise a country on the basis of how it affects him, displays a petty, egoistic, narcisistic individual lacking both empathy and understanding of the country that the organisation he heads is dedicated to assist in a brotherly fashion.

Mr DAVIS reminds me of the pre-Hitler era German Jews, the same that were first Germans and then, if anything, Jews... But there came a Hitler, who taught them that it was the way around bt with a difference : They were Jews, even 7 generations back BUT NOT GERMANS and GOD willing, it is what Mr. DAVIS et al will sooner than later if the current Islamization trend of England continues, experience on their own beards... I"m critical too of the Israeli rulers in particular and politicians in general, although my opinion doesn"t carry the wisdom and importance of that of a Mr. DAVIS, bt my critics are for not repaying in kind the 9 years bombing of South Israel in order to turn SDEROT into a ghost town ; having stopped CAST LEAD without flfilling its logical purpose; failing to sink or disable the flotillas in high sea; allowing high treason from Arab MK"s; turning over to the PA the payroll tax monies paid by Israeli employers of Arab workers and the present stupidity of dancing to the tune of the White House Muslim in this foolish "peace" with an en emy even stones know is not a peace partner by any streak of the imagination...

. Though i am an ardent supporter of Israel, and detest the antisemitism in England, this piece seems to suggest that any bad mouthing of the PM of Israel is bad bad b ad. In fact, many of us are not sure what he is up to: he seems to be playing a double game, waiting for the two -state solution to fail so he can placate his hard Right wing. this is not to suggest for a moment that the Palestinians are any more believable. They want peace, yes, but a one-state solution to destroy Israel via demographics.
