Anonymous, the legion of elite hackers that warns the world they never forgive nor forget, while warning everyone to “expect them”, has launched a stunning new “Somaleaks” salvo in the “war on terror” and opened up a new hacker-led front.
Claiming complete and under “pwnership” of Somalia-based Dahabshill, a banking and money transfer operation (with the now extremely questionable tagline of “fast money transfer you can trust”), Anonymous says it pwns the lot – servers, passwords, accounts, IDs – everything – and is giving Dahabshill two months to come completely clean on its terrorist activities.
Anonymous’s stunning declaration and deadly serious ultimatum can be read here at Slashdot, where Anonymous even warns customers of the bank to get their money out ASAP, lest it be transferred away for them.
Anonymous says it is itself “not a terrorist organization”, but that they are “fed-up with the fact that our society is loosing time”, and has decided to “to speed-up actions against terrorists and their friends” by first trying to “eradicate the sources of terrorist financing”.
To “stop this cyber-sabotage” immediately, Anoymous asks the bank (and anyone else involved in terror financing “to stop lying, to recognize your help with Somalia terror, and to officially change your behaviour”, and to provide a “public message from you, as a proof”.
Anonymous warns IT security companies or contractors from helping Dahabshiil, noting the network in under constant surveillance, with the “cyber bombs” able to be detonated against the Dahabshiil infrastructure before the two month deadline should the bank try to extricate itself from this hole in any other way besides presumably admitting its behaviour and promising to Anonymous they’ll never be naughty banking boys or girls ever again.
Anonymous says ‘The countdown is already running. It's too late. You have the choice between living, or dying with honors in the family of people who helped terrorists. You will be our first public example of cyber-destruction, as others already changed their minds. Be smart. Choose life”.
Anonymous then warns other terrorists and those helping the terrorists that “we will find you, and you will also be destroyed by our cyber-team, sooner or later. There is no place for you on earth. No place for you on Internet. No place for hate. Make love. Make kids. Be smart. Choose life.”
Finally, Anonymous says it hasn’t forgotten “what happened with Megaupload, Pirate Bay, Sopa, friends, etc”, and that they are deadly serious in creating this new front by “officially” declaring its own “War on Terror”.
As proof, Anonymous has posted links at the Slashdot posting with images, an SQL export of bank accounts and backups of data it has collected, as well as noticing one of the Somiland brand admin passwords was “Dahab123”, which Anonymous sarcastically laughs at by saying it is “awesome” while pointing out that this is how seriously the Dahabshiil bank takes “security”.
Once again, Anonymous proves it is not to be messed with in any shape or form, with more incoming salvos from Anonymous definitely to be expected!
