ICJS Complaint noted in AJN

ABC SUICIDE BOMBER REPORT SLAMMED

A REPORT about attempted suicide bombers in Israeli prisons on ABC Radio's PM program last week has come in for strong criticism by Jewish community watchdog Issues of Concern for Justice and Society (ICJS). ICJS executive member Ralph Zwier issued a complaint to the ABC about the July 25 segment in which Middle East correspondent Mark Willacy described a suicide bomber as an “attractive young woman” with “big brown eyes and a large smile” who was “nursing a sparrow back to life” and adding that it was “hard to believe she was caught with a suicide bomb”. Zwier told the ABC that Willacy's report from the Israeli prison “sounds like some type of PR/propaganda piece released by the Palestinian Authority”.
