Man, they said we betterIs this viewpoint valid? In one sense this is just good neighborliness. If two parties have a history of conflict, it can be helpful if each side agrees to speak well of the other.

Those who seek to foster discord among Muslims and Christians focus on issues that divide and emphasize areas of conflict. But when resources such as Muhammad's promise to Christians is invoked and highlighted it builds bridges. It inspires Muslims to rise above communal intolerance and engenders good will in Christians who might be nursing fear of Islam or Muslims. In reality Islam's policy for dealing with Christians, Jews and other conquered peoples was not shaped by the Mt Sinai letter. It is quite misleading for Dr Khan to imply that it was, or that this letter could be regarded as compelling evidence for Islam's policy towards non-Muslims.
When I look at Islamic sources, I find in them unprecedented examples of religious tolerance and inclusiveness. They make me want to become a better person.

Oops - clarification. By barbarism against each other I meant daily outrages by mohammedans against each other, outrages to which we must be blind and silent, for fear of upsetting its perpetrators.

Dr Khan"s article is an example of mohammedan dawa - propaganda. The tolerance of mohammedans is given the lie by researches of Bat Ya-Or and Andrew Bostom. Khan asks that we speak positively to stop us speaking the truth about Islam. It must be said that there are good people who call themselves Muslim; they are a minority. The truth is that either because of intimidation or group pressure, mohammedans overwhelmingly adopt a united stand against non-Muslims and they compete to out-do each other in religiousity and advancing Islam. They try to fool us by stating that "A terrorist cannot be a Muslim and a Muslim cannot be a terrorist", even when we daily experience violent jihad against us and barbarism towards each other. Islam is an agenda for theft, enslavement, murder and deceit masquarading as a religion. Until its votaries abandon the supremicist agenda enshrined in shari"a it will be at war with civilised societies. And it will not abandon that path until we elect leaders who are neither blind nor politically correct.

Dr. Khan"s own words acknowledge the need for Muslims to "rise up against (their) communal intolerance" because Christians "might be nursing fear of Islam or Muslims." A great deal of the Western world IS fearing Islam/Muslims - because every day new atrocities by Islamic terrorists are reported. Mark Durie tells it straight- Dr. Khan may have the best of intentions - but not facing the reality of Islamic radical practices does not help cleanse them and introduce sanity into a frequently savage world.
