How Sad

Israel offered to immediatly airlift aid to the biggest crisis area in America - the Gulf Coast. Hundreds of doctors, nurses, trauma experts, who are deeply experienced in treating trauma of every sort - as well as equipment, supplies and complete field hospitals were ready to go - as they have so often during past catastrophes.

Other nations also offered assistance but, the U.S. - as explained by Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice is not sufficiently organized to accept this aid.

We have heard from American doctors and victims at the disaster sites on this fifth day after the Category 5 Hurricane Katrina that they have been swamped by the sheer numbers of refugees but, Rice, Bush, FEMA, ‘et al’ - in their wisdom - have NOT yet accepted Israel’s offer. They could have already been on the ground with doctors, fields hospitals, mental and social care workers, medicines, supplies, etc.

By the way, the national newspapers seem to have NOT included all of the American Jewish charity organizations and Federations who are collecting emergency rescue funds in the lists of those other self-help organizations.

I guess that Bush and Rice dare not offend the Saudis and the rest of the Muslim world by accepting the desperately needed assistance.
